This, Too
~ with gratitude to all who waited for me to find this part of the story.
It seems when grief has ripped
the seam and loss spills over everything
then, this too, is revealed:
that kindness lives even in memory,
that love still wells from the heart.
This too it says. This life that keeps on
with the living, and allowed you, my beloved,
to seep into the smallest of small moments.
An embrace from a friend, and I feel your arms are around me,
I open my eyes to the morning in a bed warm
and know some of that warmth is you.
This loss, your life, has seeped
and spilled into all of mine.
And now, I am grateful for this, too.
